Russians with Spicy Chakalaka Salad
Serves 4- 6
3 Tbs sunflower oil
1 large onion, grated
3 garlic cloves, crushed
2 Tbs grated fresh ginger
1 green pepper, grated
1 red pepper, grated
3 green chillies, deseeded and chopped
2 Tsp medium curry powder
3 medium carrots, grated
500g Senn Foods russian sausages
1 can baked beans
salt and peepper to taste
- Heat the oil and saute the onion, garlic, ginger, green and red peppers with the chillies and the curry powder for 5 minutes.
- Add the carrots and cook gently until the carrots are just cooked.
- Heat the Senn Foods russians in boiling water and keep warm while you finish off the chakalaka by adding the baked beans.
- Check the seasoning and serve warm or cold with the Senn Foods russians.
